Choral Society trip, Dublin--part 1

So I am in Dublin this weekend with UCC's Choral Society...
Here is the place we invaded for the weekend--it is quite unassuming and actually kind of cute on the outside. It looks like it would be nice, comfy, cozy place. Inside was quite different than what I expected...

There was a rainbow room and a shamrock room and even a hammock room...full of hammocks!
Where we were staying has the most psychedelic interior decor!
There was some pretty strange art on the walls of the entire place, but perhaps most disturbing was the art that was to be found in the stairwell...

I saw this each morning when walking down to breakfast...eek
This is the rainbow room, in case you hadn't already guessed. It was large enough to be a military barracks! The whole choir fit in there!

My friend Mia posted something on my Facebook wall a little while ago--something about young people leaving Ireland. This was the picture that accompanied said article. I saw this billboard outside of the hostel we were staying at, so I thought I would take a photo of it :)

Directly across the street from where we were staying was this view...it was nice, except when we narrowly escaped being shit upon by seagulls overhead.
There was beautiful street art everywhere, I tried to take pictures of most of it... the graffiti here is so much more interesting that what I am used to seeing in Chicago. C'mon Chicago, it's time to step it up!

We had our workshop from 10-4 inside Trinity College Dublin. I remember being here six years ago or so and vowing I would take classes here. I would (obviously) eventually choose to study in Cork, but in a way I still kept my vow!

Imagine my surprise when I was handed music and it turned out to be the original copy I had at the beginning of the year! (we had to turn in our music at the end of each rehearsal) I know this one was mine because on the last page is the list I made when Aliette and I were trying to name all the dwarves from the Hobbit...

saw this on a classroom door on campus... I am still not sure why it is there.

I know it's an old joke... but  we still thought it was cute.

Candy shop! Dieuwke and stopped to see if they had licorice, they did, and they let us try some--made me happy :)

I remembered this place from 6 years ago!

Christ church cathedral--nice place, we were gonna go to service in the morning but decided to go to the Guinness Storehouse and see the Book of Kells instead.

More street art!

Part 2 coming soon!
