A Yankee's Corkboard: Archery in Leitrim / New Years

The Drive out to Co. Leitrim was uneventful if you don't count the near heart-attack when we almost forgot a bow on the bus...

And our first night we just settled in at Grace's place--she's a wonderful hostess and her kids were nice as well :)

Skye drove us out to the range the next morning. The landscape reminded me a bit of the Northwoods, Wisconsin--all the lakes and such.

After a rundown of range and field safety, basic design of the bow and arrows, and the lesson I had received at Swords, Dublin about body triangles and covering the 'instinctive' bit, we went to the arena to get started!gs

There was a nice little restaurant/bar there, it was cute. I would like to say it reminded me of home. It really reminded me of some of the places I saw in Arizona...

This building "everyone always snaps pictures of that", so what did I do? Got out and immediately take a picture of course.

And we head out to the woods for some field archery.

We had the strong urge to play music from LOTR here. (or maybe it was just me)

I handed off my camera for large parts of this... See how my hair is snagged by the tree there, it's a good look on me, no?

The 'toy camera effect' was on and I didn't know how to switch it off until much later...but it does look pretty cool like this!

There are cabins folks can rent out. I would LOVE to vacation there in summer and go shooting and horse-back riding! AAAHHH!!!

Yup, This was a good day.

In the end, we ll got somethin' to show for it...

...Some more than others! Skye showed us her battle scars, lol

Mine didn't show up for a few days more.

We went out to see if KFC served biscuits here, and I mean REAL AMERICAN BISCUITS not COOKIES. -_- They did not.

New Year's Eve was a blast. There were bubbles and bouncy head-bands and purple hair-extensions. There were poppers, and tiaras, and a write-a-message sash which we put on Thor (Francis)
