Battle of the Flags 2014

I have some videos and pictures yet to add--look for an update soon!
~~~
Weekend prior to Raise and Give Week (affectionately know and R&G,or "RAG" week)
was the 2014 Battle of the Flags, where over 50 some odd Vikings invaded the lower grounds of the UCC campus for a day of friendly competition, trading goods, and fun!
I braided my hair before the archery competition, and bought some epic leather hair-ties from Crystal!
Shout-out to Michelle for grabbing some pictures for me!
 After the clout shooting--where we all shoot (up into the air) in an attempt to get closest to a flag at the far-end of the field, we also  shot at a shield-wall. For some reason it was relatively easy to hit a small flag, but largely difficult to hit a whole bloody wall of people! My guess is because we wanted the blunts to land on top of them and not actually injure anybody--we kept over-shooting into the trees beyond...
 I do greatly enjoy archery and was disappointed to hear how Mircat could not make it to Flags due to the previous bad weather which had shown no signs of stopping... However, my bow, arrows, and arm-guard may yet arrive sometime in March if there may be an event with the UCC archery club where Mircat may visit! ^_^ *crosses fingers*
 There were all sorts of pretties to admire and buy: including but not limited to:
leather goods--bags, belts, and armour
pelts--deer
antler--buttons, clasps, rings, neclaces, dagger-hilts, etc
jewlery--pewter, bone, amber, glass, etc
weapons--swords, daggers/knives, bows/arrows, etc
accessories--drinking horns, belts, tools for crafting, fur/leather, etc.
 The women were involved in combat as well...
 Children and passers-by stopped to see what was going on. It is not everyday you find Vikings involved in combat training on your walk to work!
 There were some one-on-one battles as well group skirmishes...
And I shall leave you with some words of wisdom...
