Spelling --English translation-- How it sounds 

An Aimsir--The weather--an eye-m-shir (as in 'shirt')

Speaking about the weather is always one of the first thing one learns when learning a new language.

Allow me to tell you the one phrase you will certainly use every day in Ireland...

Tá sé ag cur báistí--it is raining / rain is falling--taw shay egg cur bawshtee

Great! All the rest will be just in case there is a miracle, it is not raining, and you need some way to describe it... 

So here we go, you might remember some of this from posts previous--go n-éirí leat (good luck)!

Conas atá an aimsir?--what is the weather like?--con-us -taw on eye-m-shir?

anois--right now--annish

inniubh--today--in-yuv (almost like saying 'in love' <3 ) 

Tá an aimsir go deas--the weather is nice--taw on eye-m-shir guh dass

Tá sé go deas--it is nice--taw shay guh dass

...go hálainn (ar fad)--beautiful (very)--guh hawling air fawd

Tá sé...

fuar------cold--foo-er

te--------hot---teh

fluich---wet---fluck

dorcha--dark--dur-a-ka

geal----bright--gee-ahl 

or

Tá an ghrian ag taitneamh--the sun is shining--taw on gree-on egg tan-iv

or

Tá sé... 

gaofar--------------windy------------------------go-way-fer

scamallach---------cloudy-----------------------ska-ma-lach 

ceomhar------------foggy---------------------quo-ver/kyo-ver

(remember, 'mh' makes a 'v' sound!)

stoirmiúil----------stormy-------------------------steer-um-oo-il

ag cur báistí------it is raining / rain is falling--egg cur bawshtee

ag cur sneachta--it is snowing-------------------egg curr shnawkta

('ag cur' is the  action of falling, precipitation, in this case)

beagánín----------------a little bit----------------------bee-gaw-neen

cuíosach--middling (similar to beagánín / kind-of)--kwee-suck

...is baolach-------------unfortunately-----------------iss bway-luck

... chomh maith----------also / too---------------------hoh-ma

  

So one might say:

 Tá sé cuíosach fuar inniu, gaofar chomh maith.--it is a bit cold today, windy too.--taw shay kwee-suck foo-er in-yuv, go-ay-fer hoh-ma.

or

 Tá sé fuar agus fliuch, is baolach.--it is cold and wet, unfortunately.--taw shay foo-er aw-gus fluck, iss bway-luck

That is enough for now--next will be nouns! So many nouns...

and possibly some other phrases when talking about weather.
